Join us in our support of Breast Cancer for Pink October

Boundary Outlet in Colne has turned its store bright pink for the entire month of October to raise vital funds and awareness for Breast Cancer Now and Against Breast Cancer.

Alongside its glowing storefront, Boundary is holding a number of fundraising initiatives across its five stores throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October) to support the life-changing work of the charities it supports.

55,000 women and 370 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK which equates to one woman every 10 minutes and one man every day. 7,000 people are diagnosed with DCIS, which is an early form of Breast Cancer every year, which takes the total amount of treatments required in the UK to over 62,000.

Take a look at what we have on below to raise funds for Breast Cancer Now and raise awareness of Breast Cancer:

Helping to beat Breast Cancer

Boundary Outlet is selling October-themed merchandise in-store to raise funds to go towards Breast Cancer Now. They also have donation stations around the stores so customers can contribute and support as much or as little as they wish.

Boundary Outlet is selling special one-off Pink October Bags for Life as well as small packets of sweets with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Now.

Bra Bank

Boundary Outlet has bra banks in all its stores in association with Against Breast Cancer.

The Against Breast Cancer bra recycling scheme takes any unwanted or old bras and through networks of bra banks, raising vital funds for pioneering breast cancer research. The same bras also help to support small businesses in developing countries in Africa and around the world. Recycling, and a textile recovery project minimises the number of bras that end up in landfill and can in some cases give these bras a new lease of life where they are donated to countries such as Togo Ghana and Kenya.

Successful ventures like this provide an income for families in developing countries whilst providing employment for people living in the UK. Any bras that are genuinely beyond redemption are dismantled and disposed of properly. For every tonne of bras collected, Against Breast Cancer receives £700 to fund our research. With over 30 million women in the UK, you could really help make a difference.

Designer Pop-up Shop

Boundary Outlet is also partnering with a local designer clothes charity based in Burnley to come and set up a pop-up shop in the Colne store with all the proceeds going into CARES (Cancer Assessment Rapid Early Support).

Labels sell designer fashion at up to 70% off the RRP with big-name labels like Coast, Karen Millen, and Alice Temperley. This pop-up shop will only be available in the Colne store.

Pucker Up & Pledge

Boundary Outlet is running Pucker Up & Pledge initiative in association with Beauty Outlet. To show your support to those affected by breast cancer, you can kiss/stamp & pledge on a love heart and tie to the wall of support.

Write your own special message on a heart, and it will hang on our pucker up and pledge wall in our Colne store.

Self-Check Posters in Changing Rooms

One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, but more than 50% of women say they don’t know the early signs of the disease.

In partnership with The Cosmetics Company Store, Boundary is encouraging all women who use the changing room facilities to check themselves for any of the listed symptoms of Breast Cancer.

Boundary Family Support

Along with all the great initiatives we are putting on the Boundary Family would like to show their unity as well through every staff member in our stores wearing a pink ribbon to help raise awareness as well as show our support and unity.

We will also be taking part in Breast Cancer Now’s ‘Wear something Pink’ day on the 21st of October. Where all donations will be directly donated to the charity.
