Established in 1897, Shearer Candles is a leading creator and purveyor of artisan candles and scented products. Working with only the purest ingredients and inspired by our beautiful surroundings here in Scotland, our goal is to continuously exceed the expectations of our customers around the world by delivering superior quality and exceptional choice.
As the oldest producer of lifestyle candles in the UK, everything we do is underpinned by a long tradition of candle making. Whilst much has changed over the years, Shearer Candles is still recognised for our artisan approach, use of high-quality ingredients and our attention to detail.
We hand-pick the finest ingredients that are certified to the highest standard, importing waxes, wicks and fragrance oils from all over the world to create our products right here in our factory in Glasgow.
Each fragrance is selected by our experienced nosing team and sourced from accredited fragrance houses in accordance with CLP regulations.
Our in-house product development and testing team are constantly developing and improving our portfolio of products to suit market trends and to ensure our products perform to the highest standard. We are also continuously making attempts to reduce our carbon footprint and reduce the amount of plastic packaging we put out into the world.

Dinner Candles
Our coloured dinner candles are produced by our time-served chandlers using the traditional “drawing” process.
This process traps air between each layer of wax surrounding the wick which feeds the flame as it burns.This delivers a superior burning experience and a longer burn time. Our dinner candles are available in a variety of wonderful colours for you to choose from
Church
Church candles have always been at the very heart of what we do at Shearer Candles. Classic, ivory and unscented, our ever-popular extruded church candles come individually wrapped and burn for up to 185 hours.
Naturals Collection
We present three beautiful new fragrances in our Naturals Collection; Bergamot & Rose, Cedarwood & Log Fire, and Eucalyptus & Pine. Each is wonderfully delicate and pure, with natural, earthy qualities that will transport you to a tranquil, calm place.
The range features 100% soy wax candles, essential oils and contains minimal plastic packaging, including brown glass vessels. All packaging is recyclable after use.
