About Us

Established in 1934, the Ravel footwear brand began when two entrepreneurs, Mr and Mrs Erwin Wise, opened shoe shops in London under the name: The Tower Boot Company. The pair quickly came renowned for offering made-to-measure formal evening shoes and later, fashionable styles which reflected the current trends of the time.

The move from formal to fashion was insightful, as demand for the brand’s women’s footwear continued to rise; resulting in a complete rebrand of the chain of 40 nationwide stores and its footwear ranges to become Ravel in 1965. The brand was a hit, especially with style icons of the day including the likes of Lulu and the most famous supermodel of the swinging sixties, Twiggy.
